I Wasn’t Raised to Watch Football Games January 26, 2025 Well, it's a close game, and I'm just not used to watching football games. The Kansas City Chiefs are playing the Buffalo Bills and it's a tight game. The Bills are ahead by one point (22-21). I wasn't raised to watch football games. I have never had anyone sit down with me and teach me how to watch a football game. My parents split up when I was about in the fourth grade, and I lived with my mother and my brother until I went away to college my second year. I never watched football in high school. I just went to the games to drink hot chocolate. It's a miracle I went at all really, not knowing the first thing about the game. Today I read part of an article online but I was trying to watch the game at the same time. I guess I'm going to have to get one of those "football for idiots" kind of books. Kansas City just made another touchdown and they're ahead again by five points. The score is now 29-22, Kansas City. The first football game I watched in its entirety was the Superbowl game of 2020. I hadn't watched one on TV for probably several decades, and now, of course, they have all these replays and great angle shots and what have you, and, besides, I have to say, the Chiefs are just great to watch. Still, they're doing a lot of piling up on top of each other, and I'm not sure what's going on most of the time, so I might as well write this. It's on, I can hear all the excitement. It's a little bit better than just finding out, after the fact, who won, so I could know when I go to work. Practically everyone at work is into football, especially the Chiefs, and the truth is, I'm still completely at a loss when it comes to understanding football. I do not know how they can keep those guys from making a touchdown, I really don't. I suppose this one will probably go into overtime. It's cold over there, I just saw one of those guy's breath on the sidelines. They're playing in Kansas City. I knew it. The Bills just got another touchdown. Now it's 29-28. How do people take all this excitement? Kansas City ahead by one point. I guess this is what people call a good game. Oh, no, now they're tied 29-29. It is a good game. I just wish I understood better what was going on half the time. I don't know how they got it, but while I was writing, Kansas City got three points, so the score is 32-29, Kansas City. Maybe they won't go into overtime, after all. I also don't know how people afford to go to these games. But on another topic, I turned on my space heater this morning and it worked again, so I didn't have to go to Walmart after all. That was good news. However this game turns out I'm turning in in 20 minutes. I have to get some sleep tonight. One thing I've noticed, every time the camera is on the Buffalo Bills coach he has a kind of sour look on his face. Final Score 32-29 Kansas City. Okay, the Chiefs are going to the Superbowl.
