There is Too a Santa Claus!

Wish you could have been with me at the assembly just now. Beautiful sing-along including the national anthem, the school song and Christmas songs - and...a visit from Santa Claus! They are all getting to hug him at this very moment. So, all of you Santa Claus scrooges. Shame on you. Just sayin.'

It can be a dark, gloomy, doubt-filled world out there. Santa Claus is one source of joy for children. They learn soon enough how much bad there is in the world. I think it's sad that first-graders have already been told there is no Santa Claus.

So I'm thinking about those kids who have been told there is no Santa Claus, as the other, "unenlightened" kids are flocking up on the stage to hug Santa, how sad for them. Are they just sad right now? Are they telling their peers, "There is no Santa Claus. He's just a fake."

The world of make-believe is very real to children. Soon enough they learn to distinguish reality from fantasy. Why take it away from them while they are still young enough to enjoy it?

A bunch of scrooges, that's what you got out there.
