What's Good About God?

Kids were writing a letter to their favorite food. I told them, "Don't just tell it, "You're so good, I could I could eat 500 of you." Tell me what it is you like about the pizza (popular kid's favorite). Mention that you love the melted mozzarella cheese, the tangy, red tomato sauce, the chewy pepperoni. And God began to speak to me about the praises of his people.

We dutifully tell him we love him in many of our praises, but how often do we name to him the things we appreciate, like his presence when we are lonely, his faithfulness to provide for us every day, how much we enjoy his creation, and how much we appreciate his coming to us as a man and taking away our sin, his coming again to take us to be with him forever. So many things we could tell him.

He did not say it in a judgmental way at all. It was just a reminder that he likes to be told what it is we love about him, the same as we do.
