Lightning Struck or Transformer Blew?
I was stopped at a light on my way to work this morning, when suddenly I heard what sounded like thunder and my car was surrounded by bright light for a second or two. Looking in my rearview mirror, I saw sparks flying like what you sometimes see with fireworks. It also seems like I saw the car behind me inch a little closer and it occurred to me that maybe something happened a little ways back and he was trying to move away from it.
I don't know. The light changed, and everybody started moving. The rest of the day proceeded as usual. I won't bore you with details.
Two people said it sounded like a transformer blew. There was no rain and no thunder and no lightning in the sky this morning, just clouds and drizzle practically all day, but this evening there were no reports on the news about any transformers blowing up.
I just know that it was the strangest thing I have experienced in a long time. At first, I thought maybe my car had been struck by lightning, though I didn't feel anything in the car, as you would expect from being struck by something, even though I have never experienced being struck by lightning and, therefore, have no idea what it would feel like. The online sources do say you are safe in your car, however.
Well, if my car was struck by lightning, I just read that I might have flat tires in the morning. So, that is something to look forward to, right? I don't see how I could have been struck by lightning since there was no thunder and no lightning in the area, as I just said, only clouds and drizzle.
I also read online that if you think a transformer blew you should report it to the power company or 911, which, of course, I didn't do, because I didn't read that until later this afternoon. I just spent the morning, after talking to one person and texting another, thinking that a transformer had blown.
It certainly was a shocking experience, at any rate. Uneventful, in a way, unless, of course I discover that my tires are flat in the morning, or some other bizarre occurrences, like things being singed, or blackened or shattered. So far, nothing like that. I hope I will not be greeted by something like that in the morning, and I trust that I will not.
I don't have much to add to this right now. Something of much more significance happened to me this evening, but it is personal and am going to try not to be so transparent on here because some people like to meddle in the affairs of other people without kind or beneficent intent.
And I need to try to turn in early tonight. I hope you have a safe and pleasant night and enjoy your life. I just learned last night that 2 Timothy 4 was the last letter the Apostle Paul wrote because he was in prison in Rome awaiting execution. That's why he said his "departure was at hand." I don't know why I never knew that in 45 years of being a student of the Bible, but oh, well, the next letters in the New Testament are obviously out of order, then. Talk soon. Love and Goodnight.
