You Came to Me

You are my refuge in the storm When I'm cold You keep me warm You are the healer of the broken-hearted And You have all of eternity charted Words fail when I try to explain Or try to unscramble my brain But all I ever really wanted to do Was to live in a way that glorifies You I tried so hard to be good enough I thought that I could be so tough But I'm not and I will never be All I know is You came to me You came to me and gave me You And now I know Your word is true You opened my eyes so I could see And gave me life for eternity I was on my way to death and hell Not a pleasant tale to tell But You took my place, for my sins You bled You laid down Your life, then rose from the dead I believe it now, in my heart and head That You raised me from the dead All I was, was flesh and bones But Your blood for sin atones You came to me and gave me You And now I know Your word is true You opened my eyes so I could see And gave me life for eternity "The wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 6:23).
