Thin Ice
Got nothing to report tonight
Tired and I want to go to bed
Don't want to get into a fight
Just got a cloud up in my head
If I stay up late on my phone
And watch the late night news
I'll know that I'm not alone
but I'm sick of the media's views
Although the whole world's talking
And very few being nice
With so many big wigs walking
On sheets of cold, thin ice
There's a God who rules and reigns
In spite of what we see and hear
His Son died to break our chains
And lives to draw us near
Underneath is ice cold water
Dark and reeking of death
As young lives become cannon fodder
Sacrificing their souls' last breath
Is this just time's old story
And must it always be this way?
If we live just for God's glory
Can we hope for a better day?
Although the whole world's talking
And very few being nice
With so many big wigs walking
On sheets of cold, thin ice
There's a God who rules and reigns
In spite of what we see and hear
His Son died to break our chains
And lives to draw us near
