Think it Not Strange
Seems like at a certain point, perhaps the beginning of "young old age" (65-74) where it seems like nature begins to launch an all-out assault on your body. Reminds me of that verse in 1 Peter that says:
"Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you; but rejoice to the extent that you partake of Christ's sufferings, that when His glory is revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy" (1 Peter 4:12-13).
I'm grateful for the many promises in the Bible for God's care for us who believe. For example:
"Even to your old age, I am He,
And even to gray hairs I will carry you!
I have made, and I will bear;
Even I will carry, and will deliver you" (Isaiah 46:4).
I have learned that the best strategy for peace and joy in every stage of life is gratitude.
"Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you" (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18).
This has been another busy day, things to remember, things done, things left undone, but I am grateful and I hope you are too. We can lift one another up because of Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit within us. We don't have to preach all the time, but we do have to stay in a relationship with the Lord and let him do his work in us as we crank it out one day at a time.
This is another short writing night because I am going to gather this evening with my little church fellowship. There are about two and a half weeks left of school before summer break, and I will have more time then. Have a good night and do take care of that body. It's the only one we're going to get in this life.
