All the Evil in the World
All the evil in the world is just too much for anyone to handle. What has happened is we have become hardened to it. I think modern communication technology has contributed more to this than anything else. We have gotten to a place where we can't tell the difference between fiction and reality.
All the evil in the world wasn't meant for indidual people to handle. God gave us the senses that he gave us to do with what was needed for our survival and for the blessing of our fellow human beings, but because of our sinful nature, we have turned everything around and cheapened life itself.
All the evil in the world is not for you or me alone to try to change, especially not to "change the world." I think that is one reason so many people are frustrated with their life when they realize they may not be the agent of change the world told them they could be.
God has given us the Manual for Life, His word, the Bible. If people would just learn how to live by God's word, we could regulate our own lives to such an extent that we would see change, but not as a result of our individual agency.
We can change how we relate to others, and we can change how we think about other people, all things that are taught very clearly in the Book of Books.
This is all I've got tonight, because I am going to join with my small Christian church tonight, and won't get home in time to do any writing. But I just wanted to throw these thoughts out there.
There is, of course, much more that could be said about it, but for now, let it be enough to say that all the evil in the world is not for us to try to do battle with. We all actually probably have enough in our own heart and life to tend to without trying to reform the world. We can know, however, that we can choose which side we want to be on, and I choose to be on the side of the Lord, and encouraged by the reality that the battle is the Lord's.
We just need to get on His side, and not be ground to powder. The choice is clear.
