Thankful for Crack Brownies and the Resurrection
I am thankful today for Ann Marie Lee who came and helped me prepare crockpot breakfast casserole and "crack brownies" last night for my treat Friday at work today. A team of three prepares food for all the teachers and staff at the school, basically. I am still not well and I was not looking forward to doing all that, to be honest. I was just praying for the strength to be able to do it. God blessed me, not with superhuman strength, but with another pair of hands to help peel the paper off of 50 caramels, melt them in the pan, cut a half a cup of green onions, beat a dozen eggs and dice a green pepper.
I always forget how much work goes into some recipes, even the easy ones. But it all turned out well. I got hot cross buns at Dillon's this morning after finding out I didn't have an 8"x 8" pan for the flax brownies I was going to make to balance the "crack brownies." They are two layers of German chocolate cake dough (no eggs) with 2 cups of semi-sweet chocolate bits and melted caramels in the middle. Yeah.
So we had all my stuff (breakfast casserole, white jalapeno cheese dip and lime Tostitos, regular Tostitos, crack brownies, and hot cross buns), plus 4 kinds of muffins, smokies, Ruffles and onion dip, and salsa for my regular Tostitos. Also some M&M eggs I think. Anyway, you get the idea.
I am thankful to the Lord because to be thankful to me means to be thankful to somebody, that Somebody being the Lord Jesus Christ who is so real every day in our lives if we will just let Him.
"Now may the God of peace who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead, that great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, make you complete in every good work to do His will, working in you what is well pleasing in His sight, through Christ Jesus to whom be glory forever and ever." Hebrews 13:20-21
Jesus is Lord
He is risen!
