Don't Friend Strangers on Facebook

Not accepting friend requests from strangers anymore. Did it twice. Think they were both scammers. They have a particular spirit. Both of them had it. I unfriended the first one and now today I saw the FIRST post by the one who's supposedly in Orlando. I liked it. It was a scripture post. He messaged me to thank me for liking his post. He was a little cagier than the first one. Started messaging me a long time ago, no big deal. Now today when I let him know I wasn't going to continue with the conversation, I went back to add something and he had blocked me (I guess) and/or unfriended me.

What really got me was when he said he worked offshore but he said "at offshore." So when I asked him, "At offshore?" and he said yes, I figured he was likely not the friendly American he was pretending to be.

Then I said I had to go home. He asked why. I said, "time," and he said he thought he scared me away. I said "that too." Then he said, "Why? Do you have a problem with my job?"

One of the characteristics of some of these people is that they use strange grammar which suggests they probably are not native English speakers but want you to think they are.

I also googled him and he has one of these names that are often scammed, apparently. So, girls, let's just be careful. In fact, I would say, don't waste your time friending people online whom you don't know or look like they may be nice. Let's keep Facebook friendly, not a place to get hit on by scammers.
