Don't Throw The Pieces Off the Board
John Kasich on NPR said insulting Trump is not a good strategy to influence Trump supporters. He used a cool metaphor. Basically, you don't solve problems (or win the game?) by knocking the pieces off the board (pretty good visual, I thought, of Trump's strategy). About how Trump had "tapped in" to people's anger and frustration with government and their problems, economic and otherwise. They're mad and "not gonna take it anymore" like the movie "Network." Anyway, the strategy of influencing people in political discussions, as most of you already know, is to talk about policy and solutions. In other words maybe talking about issues instead of personalities? I don't know. The only other strategy I know is to pray. Anyway, I'm not holding my breath for any of the Republican candidates. Just sayin.
