What's On Your Mind?

Going to try what do they call it? Stream of conscience. That's where you just start writing whatever's on your mind. Isn't that what Facebook is always asking? "What's on your mind?" Twenty minutes of just writing. Well, that's about what I do every night, but usually for more than 20 minutes. Tonight, I have just gotten started because...well, because the things I have on my mind are "controversial," and I don't want to get into places where mean people like to get on Facebook and start fights about the topics I choose to write about that are controversial. They should not be controversial, but they are. I guess the bottom line is it is very difficult right now in America. I just looked at Facebook and saw what people are posting about "speaking out," and, of course, they're talking about "speaking out" against what I want to speak out about. And I know if I put my two cents out there, people will just be riled and I ask myself, "Seriously? What good is that? On Social Media? Really?" And then I get emails saying, "Well, if you care about this you should donate some money. Here's how." And there we are again. I happen to believe the evil in the world is evidence of spiritual warfare in this country and in our entire world. The division, the hate, the striving, the nastiness, the toxicity. I don't want to get involved in it. I took down a post I put there that said, "In a nutshell, 4 things divide us: climate change, gender change, same sex marriage and abortion." One person liked it, but I took it down, because social media does not really care what's on my mind or yours, the algorithms are just working to control what gets out there. They know what category you and I are a part of and they are controlling every aspect of what happens on their platforms. I would not be surprised if someone would report this as being against community standards. Why do I think that? Because I just got out of restrictions from Facebook for perfectly innocent posts. One was a music video of a song by Stephen Foster and because there was a black and white photo of a little boy in a state of undress that I had not noticed when I posted the video they said I had committed a crime I won't even mention. You can imagine. And another one was a political video. Well you can't have an opinion without being at risk of posting fake information or something and forget trying to negotiate with the platform. It is impossible. So I spent a year in this condition, was just released in September, welcomed back, as it were, and now they want me to be a "digital creator," and if I didn't want to agree to it they were going to do it for me, and, well, that means I have to be even more cautious about what I put out there for people to see. Does this remind you of anything? It remines me of the book 1984 which I read in high school. I started reading it againin 2020 when all the nonsense was going on, and it was so disturbing I couldn't even finish it. America is in big trouble, that is, that is what the media wants us to believe. I happen to believe we are not in such trouble as all that. Our country is strong. However, some of us are going to have to pray. I heard on the radio requests to pray for the Christians in Iran, and that is, for sure, something we need to pray about, but I think we need to pray for our own people very much as well, because people are very stirred up. They need peace of mind and they are not going to find it on social media. People are going to have to let God into their lives. All of the mess in Minnesota and in the media and in politics and everywhere from coast to coast, what the world needs now is truth. That is, if they are ready for it. That is the question.
