Burnt out on Political Division

"Studies show that about 66% of Americans are worn out by political stress, and this fatigue often leads to people avoiding conversations altogether, rather than finding other things to talk about." I read this today, and I just want to say, count me in that 66%. I wonder what would happen if everyone just quit hating on other people for their beliefs and just started being humane to one another. I can't help but believe that the whole country would be a whole lot healthier. I know people who are very vocal about their political biases and are always posting about it on Facebook, and I admit I have done my share of it. But I have decided that everyone should just stop. It reminds me of cliques in junior high. We are grown-ups now. Shouldn't we behave like grown-ups and find pleasant ways to relate to one another? I notice, also, that if we see each other in public, we are very nice and kind to each other, but when we see each other's posts on Facebook, it is a whole different story. Also, if every time you make a comment on Facebook that contains an opinion of yours that someone doesn't like, pretty soon you will get a laugh emoji or a rude response. I don't know about you, but I'm getting so tired of it. This whole taking sides and politicizing and getting in others' faces, recruiting them to your side so there's no mistake about what you believe about everything, thinking putting it out there on Facebook is going to change anybody's mind. What it does to me is it makes me literally nauseated, and I wish everyone would stop doing this. I've been unfriended for posting Scripture, but that is not my opinion. That is the Bible. If you don't like the Bible, you are free to unfriend me. I am not going to get in your face about it. That is just what I believe. It's nothing personal. And I believe I will give an account to God for what I believe and what I post on Facebook, and I know what the Bible says about judging others. I have never seen so much nastiness as I've seen lately on Facebook. Nothing but insults and accusations and hatefulness and blaming other people for believing different about everything. It's really disturbing. Everybody is getting so hostile toward other people and then things like what happened in Minnesota happen and everybody starts saying we have to get rid of Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Get RID of it? And then people are saying we aren't Christian-like if we don't let everyone in the world cross over our border illegally. What sense does that make? What is wrong with people these days? I think we are going to see a reckoning pretty soon if we don't lower the heat on all these things. There are people out there who want violence happening. They want it and it looks to me like each faction is blaming the other one for the problem. We definitely need to turn the temperature DOWN, not UP. I do not know who is benefiting by all this hateful back and forth out there. I have heard that this is what happens every election cycle, and I suppose that is also a contributing factor, but the bottom line is we can't let violence become the norm. It will destroy us as a nation. We have to learn to live together in peace. That's all I've got. I want to go read.
