I'm Still Alive
"I'm still alive," she said,
Her words still ring inside my head
Next time, she said, "It went by so fast,"
If only we could make it last
But life comes and goes in its own time,
Without reason, without rhyme
We have no answers to such pleas
In life and time, few guarantees
"I'm still alive," she said,
Why do these words stay in my head?
Death seems so final, and so cruel
And only God can overrule
I will never understand why
So many would rather die
Than live forever in the truth
'Cause faith is impossible to prove
I'm still alive, I'll never die
'Cause God can't fail and does not lie
He shows Himself to all who seek
And to every open heart He'll speak
I have nothing else to say
All I know to do is pray
Come quickly, Jesus, if you will
But if You delay, I'll trust You still
