What Must I Do to Be Saved?

And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: of sin, because they do not believe in Me; of righteousness, because I go to My Father and you see Me no more; of judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged" (John 16:88-11). No one can be saved without knowing they are a sinner and need salvation. I know how Jesus did this with me, I don't know how he does this with others because we're all different, but these verses tell us that he does it. "9...if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the Scripture says, 'Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.' 12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. 13 For 'whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved'" (Romans 10:9-11). It's very simple. People just reject it or act on it. It's pretty clear that most people reject it. Why, I do not know, I only know it's true. Jesus said, "Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: "Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it" (Matthew 7:13-14 KJV). I also like the New King James Version: “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and [b]difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it." Entering in at the narrow gate is the way to life. Every other way is the way to death, spiritual death, eternity without God, darkness, hell, Lake of Fire, because sin has already been judged, the devil who is the "god of this world" has been judged (called "the ruler of this world” in the verses above in John). Physical death came about as a result of man's rebellion and we will all die in the flesh, but without salvation our soul will live in torment for eternity. Jesus spoke of it many times and it is recorded in many places in the gospel of Matthew. People don't want to believe it but they have no alternative. "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23). After an earthquake shook the prison where Paul and Silas were imprisoned, and the inmates were set free, the jailer cried out to Paul and Silas: "...'Sirs, what must I do to be saved?' So they said, 'Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household'" (Acts 16:30-31). It's really simple. If anyone doesn't believe they must be saved, I am sorry, I can't explain it to you other than with these simple words. Because "...there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved" (Acts 4:12). That is all there is to it. The Lord will have to convict you, all I can do is tell you what he said.
