What Every Living Thing Needs

What do people need more than anything? What does every living thing need for survival or in order to thrive? Plants need "light, air (carbon dioxide) water, nutrients and space,” according to an AI Overview. I narrrowed it down further, to sunlight, air, water and earth. I see sunlight as the light of God's word (as in walking in the light of the Lord as in 1 John 1:7) and see the sun as the Son; air is the Holy Spirit, as in John 3:8 (wind that you cannot see but can see what it does and John 20:22 when Jesus breathes on the disciples and says, "Receive the Holy Spirit"; and water, considered the source of natural life, would then represent the Father in this metaphor. The earth would be the space to grow and the nutrients needed to be healthy. Starting with water, Jesus speaks of possessing rivers of living water springing up from within in John 7:38-39. So, water represents the Holy Spirit here. In the natural, water cleanses as Paul writes in Ephesians 5:26, representing the word that cleanses us--from unrighteousness as in 1 John 1:9. Sunlight (The Son, the blood): 1 John 1:7, 9 "But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin" (1 John 1:7). "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9). Air or wind (The Holy Spirit) John 3:8 John 20:22 Water (The Father) John 7:38-39 Ephesians 5:26 1 John 1:9 Now, in conclusion, every living thing needs God, most of all human beings. Just like plants, we need water, air and sunlight, and for humans, created by God in His image, we need Him for everything. We need the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit in order to thrive and fulfill the will of the One who created us. We are spiritual beings and God is a Spirit, who created all things and sin cursed His creation so that we are all born with a sin nature. And yet, with Him leading us in a personal relationship, we can thrive and please God as we follow His commandments. I know this is a little deep for some people. It's a little deep for me, I confess, but it is the truth and nothing but the truth, and what's more, we can't do it without Him, so we ask Him to come and fill us and help us, in the name of Jesus Christ, God's only begotten Son. "For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things and in Him all things consist. And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence" (Colossians 1:16-18). Shall we chew on that for a while?
