Voting Your Conscience on Voting Day
Voting day is tomorrow, and I am still a proponent of voting your conscience. The people in New York seem to be convinced that anyone who doesn't want the communist (Mamdani) to win should vote for Cuomo, the hated former governor whom people were mad at because he put a whole lot of old people with Covid go die in a nursing home together, and there were a lot of other problems they had with Cuomo, but now, suddenly, he is their chance to save the city.
He lost the Democratic primary and decided to run as an independent, so suddenly he is the favored candidate to beat Mamdani, as if there was not even a Republican opponent a lot of people are going to vote for. If I were a New Yorker, I don't think I would be so eager to vote for Cuomo, but that's just me.
I am trying very hard to discover why New York is a Democrat city, in the first place. What is so great about the Democratic party, especially now that they are veering so far to the left that they are willing to elect a communist as mayor of the largest city in the country? I guess that's what being a Democrat must mean now to a lot of people.
Well, it's not my problem, I guess, but I will pray against it, because it is a cancer that will spread throughout the nation. I pray that God will destroy that stronghold of left-leaning power and that conservatives will rise up and take back the city, the sooner the better.
I am disappointed in Trump endorsing Cuomo. We all know why he's doing it, because he is among many who believe that Sliwa doesn't stand a chance of beating Mamdani. I still don't understand why so many people are convinced of that. Of course, I don't live in New York, but I don't believe Mamdani is the one who should be mayor there, and I believe it matters.
Apparently, a lot of people don't think it matters. Some people are saying we are seeing the end of the Democratic Party. I hope we are seeing the end of the far-left wing of the Democratic Party, but I don't think we have to destroy a whole party to make that happen.
I don't want to rant all the time about politics, but I think politics is very important and I don't believe Christians should stay out of politics or not talk or speak or write about politics either.
We should always speak the truth in love. I think we should be guided by the Holy Spirit, which we are if we are born again. At the same time, we are still human and flawed, and we will not agree on all points with every other Christian. And we certainly should not be agreeing about everything every non-Christian thinks about how our country should be run.
I believe everyone should vote. It's a major cop-out not to vote because the country is corrupt. That's exactly why we should vote. It is a privilege. Can it be corrupted? Of course. Are human beings still sinners? Of course. But it is one thing people of a free country can do.
Is America still a free country? That is the question. Every citizen of this country needs to be involved at some level with politics, even if it is only to exercise your right to vote. I really do pray that we learn a lesson from what happened in New York. Just the fact that he's a "socialist" and has so many young people believing in him and voting for him should be enough to make up our minds against voting for him, but they have been indoctrinated by our colleges and universities. That's where we need to focus a great deal of our attention in the future.
And we need to root out people in our government who are against what America stands for and who want to destroy America. They should not be able to serve in elective office. Period. And that is all I am going to say about this tonight. I voted early for McClure for mayor of Topeka. If you are a Topekan reading this I pray you will do the same and tell ten people to vote for him. We need a change.
