Don't Worry About What the Darkness Thinks... About Anything
I am going to be in recovery for a while, I don't know for how long. I am still in shock. I still can't believe the rancor and the hate and the lies that have been coming out about Charlie Kirk.
If what people say about others is more often about them than about the people they are judging, we are surely living in a very dark time in our land. And I am convinced the hate and the rancor and the lies tell us more about the people judging Charlie than about Charlie.
I never heard him lie, I never heard him hate, I never heard him express anything but truth from the Bible and he was more effective as an evangelist than most professional evangelists I have heard in the past 45 years.
We should know by now that they hated Jesus too. He even said to know that if they hated him, they would hate you too. Charlie Kirk doesn't need anyone to defend him and neither does Jesus Christ. If anyone will pick up the Bible and sincerely search it out, they will see that he was living to serve God and his fellow man in the most earnest and faithful way possible, and for anyone to say he was a hater is nothing but a reflection on the person saying it.
Everyone should examine their own heart. That's what God says to do. It's not about "admiring" Charlie either or trying to eulogize him. He was just an example to all of us of what one person can do with wholehearted conviction. He was a soldier for God. Most of the world is in darkness, and anyone who is in the light is called to be that light and not worry about what the darkness thinks about it.
I really don't have much to say at the moment, so I won't take up your time. We who love Charlie Kirk are able to rejoice that he has run his race and he is safe in the arms of Jesus. His work will go on because his work was the work of the Holy Spirit who the world has always hated and always will hate.
Jesus said, "And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God" (John 3: 19-21).
Anything bad they have to say about Charlie Kirk was also said of Jesus and will also be said of you if you are a born-again Christian. If you are not, you should seriously consider what that means, and what it does not mean. It does not mean you can point your finger at professing Christians and condemn them, because you are not their judge.
God commanded us to love God and to love our neighbor. That's pretty simple, isn't it? So, everything you do or say can be measured by that. Does what you do or say reflect your love of God and your neighbor? We all make mistakes. We don't have to agree about everything someone says or does, even what every professing Christian does or says. That is not what we are commanded to do. We are commanded to love God and love our neighbor. Therefore, don't worry about what the darkness thinks about anything.
I saw a post today that said Charlie didn't hate; people hated what he said. That's about the truest observation about all this yet. I thank God for his life and I am glad he is my brother and I am grateful for the impact he has had and has yet to have to the glory of Jesus Christ the Lord. Amen. Come quickly, Lord Jesus!
