Anti-Night Owl Time Management
I wrote down a schedule for myself today for my workdays, that is during the school year, when I work, and, therefore, have a schedule.
You know how they tell anyone who says they don't have enough time for this or that, "Well, God gave everybody 24 hours," so there you go, the voice of wisdom. There is probably more to time management than the number of hours, but it is true that we all have the same amount of hours in a day.
I wrote it all down from the time my alarm goes of at 6:30 AM until I supposedly go to sleep at 10:30 PM. That is the ideal, that is my goal. It has been for a long time, but it's not easy for a natural born night owl whose normal hours are more like get up at 10:00 AM and go to bed at 2 AM.
So, I got it all down on paper. It goes something like this:
6:30 AM Alarm goes off
6:30-7:30 AM Make tea, read a little Bible, get ready for work
7:30 AM Leave for work
8:00 AM Clock in
3:00 PM Clock out
3:30 PM Arrive home
3:30-7:00 PM Time to do things like get the mail, prepare food, eat, read, household issues, laundry, go to the gym, etc.
7:00-9:00 PM Write
9:00 P:M Start getting ready for bed, maybe read a little, pray and sometimes listen to Chuck Smith
10:30 PM Supposedly be asleep
If you do the math it all adds up to 24 hours, but I'm not going to write all that down. It's in my notebook at work. Anyway, today is an exception, because it's Wednesday, and I have to go to church at 6:30 PM. so I have to write between 5:00 and 6:00 at the latest, so I can leave home at 6:10 PM and get to church on time.
I don't believe I've ever written all this down before. For one thing I was wasting a lot of time watching my political news talk programs on TV which I have given up. I think all this has been in the back of my mind for a long time, and I have been trying to do these things, I just hadn't gotten it down on paper.
So, there you are. I also usually do Bible reading and studying, during the writing time, and I try to get a little of that done in the morning while I drink my tea, all a part of getting ready for work.
So, there it is, and my time is up. Got to get this done and get out the door. More later. Goodnight.
