Out of the Fray
I don't like contests, I don't like races
Always hated being put through my paces
I'm not a racehorse, I'm not a brawler,
Don't base my worth on the Almighty dollar
I'm only as smart as I am, no more
Can't count the times I've been shown the door
Rudeness and lewdness alike make me cringe
I always preferred to be out on the fringe
Out of the fray, that's where I want to be.
I don't like competition, I just want to be free.
I just want to be where I can help someone
Find their way to Jesus before their life is done
Don't want to be noticed, don't want center stage
Don't care if the world thinks I'm all the rage
Don't believe the lies will ever come true
Just want to do what I was meant to do
Tired of what the world thinks is real
Tired of everybody trying to make a deal
Everybody using everybody else
Just so they can make a name for themselves
Out of the fray, that's where I want to be
I don't like competition, I just want to be free
I just want to be where I can help someone
Find their way to Jesus before their life is done
