One Big Blithering Blemish: My 4th of July Reflection

“Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.” John Adams "If we ever forget that we're one nation under God, then we will be a nation gone under." Ronald Reagan Well, I spent I don't know how many hours going through, deleting some and saving other large attachments in my iPad, and now it's already tomorrow, or, well, it's today but it's still yesterday to me, because it's dark, if that makes any sense. I have been wanting to write a little bit about the Fourth, because I was actually kind of stirred up about it earlier, as I was seeing on the news and social media that the protesters are going to be out “resisting” on the Fourth, because they’re all upset about the direction the country is going in, and, well, I'm not upset at all. I was upset during the last presidential administration that we endured. I really don't think there was nearly as much chaos going then as there is now from the party that lost. Everybody needs to remember what they learned about sportsmanship in school, or the manners their grandparents tried to teach them. Americans need to grow up, that's what I think. I am not a historian, and I am not a political scientist, and I am not a professional journalist or essayist or activist or anything else, I am just someone who loves my country, and I am grateful to live here. What I saw today was one huge character flaw sticking out like a sore thumb as I observed some social media posts that contained all the latest on the anti-Trump protests that are planned for tomorrow. Well, I think these people all ought to be ashamed of themselves. Spoiled, that's what they are. A huge character flaw sticks out like a huge pimple on the nose of the spoiled brats going out and protesting this president and his policies. I have a limited amount of knowledge about American History. I am just someone who grew up here and learned a little something about it, and, even though education had lost a lot of its way already (even though now it's much worse), I am concerned about what I'm seeing. The purpose of education is to prepare us to be an informed citizenry. Otherwise, we are not going to have representative government. We are going to have tyranny. After the Constitutional Convention, someone asked Ben Franklin what they came up with in there, and he said, "A Republic...if you can keep it.” These people who are complaining about this president and his agenda, and griping about the One Big Beautiful Bill and pouring such rancor and insidious, venomous, despicable ire on the candidate that won the election really don't deserve to live in this nation patriots died for to birth our wonderful nation. It's already past 1:00, and I really need to get some sleep, but I do need to say one thing. I don't mean to offend anybody, but it's just kind of got to come out. The one big blithering blemish, sticking out on the nose of these people reminds me of a big zit on the nose of immature, insecure teenagers. I don't mean to beat around the bush. I'm getting to my point here, and it's really very simple. I'm going to write it in all caps. The one big blithering blemish is called INGRATITUDE. Ignorance, too, is wrapped up in that, and immaturity, but the big one is ingratitude. I just can't believe it, really I can't. John Adams said, “Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.” I am not saying everybody must be a born again Christian. This country was designed for religious freedom. I am noteven saying all the Founders were devout believers. But they understood human nature and they understood the value of religion as a saving salve of a nation. This is something that people today seem to have largely lost sight of, and I hope and pray that we have a real revival, because we desperately need it. I am not saying everybody must be a Christian. This country was designed for religious freedom. I am not even saying all the Founders were devout believers. But they understood human nature, and they understood the value of religion as a saving salve of a nation. This is something that people today seem to have forgotten, and I hope and pray that we have a real revival, because we desperately need it. The Founders knew people were sinful and would step on each other’s rights if there were not some means of checks and balances. From the very inception of our country, there have been people trying to tear it apart. In the beginning, there were those who still wanted a king, then the progressives decided they knew better than the Founders and have been messing with the Constitution ever since. We are supposed to be "one nation under God." And if we don't get back to that we are going to lose our country. Right now the Communists seem to be closer than ever to taking over, with a "democratic socialist" set to be the mayor of New York City. That would be a disaster for the entire country. Too many people have died to keep America free to now be overrun by a bunch of people calling themselves "democratic socialists" who like to call their opponents "fascists," which they obviously don't even know what the term means or they wouldn't use it so loosely. I have never seen so much disgusting back and forth in my life, nastiness, hostility, rudeness, anger, filthy language, you name it. It's just got to stop. I see in the Old Testament how over and over God intervened in history and he is still God. He allowed evil enemies to crush his people when they were worshipping idols and being rebellious, and that is exactly what we are doing right now, worshipping idols and being rebellious. He has a plan for how this is all going to end up, for nations and for individuals. We need to get this turned around as quickly as we can. God is very patient. I am just very grateful to live in America, and I plan on being overjoyed that we have survived and even thrived for nearly 250 years! That's nothing short of miraculous, with all the mess we put each other through and still put each other through! "According to the American Presidency Project, in his 1863 Proclamation appointing a National Day of Humiliation, Fasting, and Prayer, Lincoln stated that despite receiving 'choicest bounties of Heaven' and experiencing years of peace, prosperity, and growth, the nation had 'forgotten God.'" (I quoted this from the AI summary, just so you know) So, whoever you are reading this, if you are an American, whether you agree with my politics or my religion, let's please learn to talk to each other and not tear each other to pieces with our presumptuous superior attitudes and judging others and tearing each other up. Maybe I was a little harsh at the beginning of this writing, and if I hurt someone's feelings, I apologize. Everyone has the right to protest, but let's get together on the day of the celebration of our Independence and figure out a way to find common ground and come together, if that is at all possible. Our Constitution is a marvelous thing and has withstood almost two and a half centuries of strife and people hammering things out in Washington, D.C. and in all the states of this vast and diverse place we call home. Let's love each other and let's love our country together, not fight like cats and dogs. I'm serious. God bless the USA and God bless us, everyone! We don't deserve it, but that's my prayer.
