Laptop Lunacy
Laptop Legacy
July 15, 2025
I may or may not be able to use my laptop later this evening because I bought a new one yesterday over the phone and I have to take this one over to the Computer Store asap so they can make the transfer. I'm rather anxious about it. But that is why I'm writing you now, and why this may be short. I need to go as soon as I can and it's going to be hot and all the rest of the reasons I want to get this done before long.
I don't know if they can put everything back on it like it was. Some of the apps I use every day and are on the (I don't know if it's called the "desktop" or the "home screen") that make my life easier, I hope they can put back on there and make it as simple as it was to have all those things ready to jump on, or at least almost. I don't want to have to find them again and set them up again, so I'm hoping they can do all that for me.
At any rate I am writing this morning on my Lenovo Think Pad I bought in 2016. I only recently learned that laptops are only supposed to have a lifetime of five years at the most. But the reason I need it right away is that the sound is really, really bad. I can't stand it anymore, and I have been told that this one is not compatible with Windows 11. The one I'm getting is refurbished (this one was too, I was recently reminded) and it already has Windows 11 on it.
As anyone who know me knows, I hate technology. As I am typing right now I am enjoying the touch of this keyboard. It is soothing and addictive, as are the rest of the features on these things, for the purpose of yanking you in and making you their slave.
I must be going, I am sad to say, my old laptop is going away.
Later, Gator
