About AI

AI keeps wanting to help me. No, thank you, AI. I don't want your help. I will always tell you if I used AI, and I don't use it the way they want me to use it. They want me to go to my "settings," wherever that might be and do this and do that, and just "start writing" and they will help me, blah, blah, blah. Thank you, no. I have used it to look something up, and if the sentence is not really practicable to reword or whatever, I will just quote it and cite it, and you will know. I don't like AI. I think it's fine for quick look-ups online and that is ALL. I am NOT going to use it to help me write ANYTHING EVER. PERIOD. Ugh! I did not get on here to write about AI. It utterly disgusts me. For one thing, I have never liked robots or robotics or anything to do with all that. I do not want a robot to operate on me (heaven forbid), I do not want AI to take over people's jobs, I don't want AI for anything at all, to be completely honest. To be honest, I’m so over technology, how it controls our lives. I am typing on a laptop PC that I’ve probably had for over five years. I recently read that five years is the life of a laptop. They are also telling me that if I don’t replace my device with one that is compatible with Windows 11 I will cease to get help from them, updates, etc. People tell me it doesn’t matter if they don’t do all that, you can still use Windows 10, they just won’t do updates and I don’t know what else. That is a lot of money to replace a laptop computer every five years, not to mention you have to buy a new one to keep up with the new version. I’m so tired of it. Anyway, back to AI. I don’t think it’s such a great thing, in fact, I think it’s horrible. Robots replacing people, taking away their jobs, and all the possible frightening ways it can develop, I say it should be very highly controlled forever. I can’t believe they wanted Congress to give them 10 years of no regulation or something like that, and fortunately that didn’t happen. I don’t honestly know what the world is coming to. It’s bad enough to have to talk to robots and push buttons on the phone in order to talk to someone, to have to get “pin numbers” and all sorts of nonsense all the time to verify who you are on Facebook Messenger Chat, and they send you a new pin number if the correct one you gave doesn’t ring a bell with them. They can have AI. I think it deserves to be thrown in the dumpster. I wish there was a great big dumpster to throw AI into forever. Let the alligators eat it. Or the bears. I don’t even care if they are Anime alligators or bears. Just get it out of here. They could even be Anime unicorns, I don’t care. Let them eat AI. I have thought for a long time I was born in the wrong century. I used to think I wish I had been born before the invention of the automobile, and I still think that except for all the horse manure they had to deal with in big cities. It all began when industrialization took over, of course, but I don’t have anything against industrialization. I just sometimes wish we could go back to having horses instead of cars because horses are much more wonderful than cars. I know a lot of people don’t feel that way. I’m having a very weird day today. I am not even going to bore you with the reason why. All I can say about it is AI will not help. In fact, I can’t think of anything AI will help. All it will do is make people dumber and lazier, unless, of course they are computer science wizards. I’m glad I am closer to the end of my life than the beginning. As I said, and I'll say it again, I don’t want any robots operating on me, I don’t want to see robot police dogs, I don’t want everything done by recordings and buttons and distorting the truth. God knows, it’s distorted enough as it is. Already we don’t know what’s the truth and what’s a lie in the media. I just can’t wait to see how much more confusion AI will add to this equation. I have to be somewhere at 7:30 in the morning and I have to start winding down for the evening. Hasta la próxima. Goodnight.
