Six Months Ago You Were My Friend

One of Satan's apparently popular tactics, but one to which the people who do it are clearly blind, is to accuse believers (especially Evangelical or vocal) Jesus followers of not being a Christian because they are a "Trump supporter." They seem to feel they are too good to talk to you because of this. Virtue signaling, finger pointing and name calling--all of this is from the pit of hell and highlights their own hypocrisy. Like the Pharisees--always pointing at others and hating others, because Satan is "the accuser of the brethren." They think it takes the emphasis off of themselves and their sin. They think they're so smart and so righteous. Their pride is sticking out all over them. Six months ago you were my friend, And this is how it had to end? Six months ago we had an election, But you disapproved of my selection How can it happen, I wonder, How could love be put asunder? It either was not love at first Or something else, something much worse An entire way of thinking That, rectified, could stop love's sinking But unwilling you seem to be And prayer is all that's left for me 'Forgive them for they (do not know)...' That something in them stops the flow I ask my God to find a way To turn their ear to what You say
