Apple can keep their latest upgrade
So, December 2, 2024, I am remembering what "blog" means. I looked it up once a long time ago. And it came from "web log." For years I thought "blogging" or being a "blogger" was a disgraceful thing to call yourself. I still do, actually, but here I am doing that and being that, I guess. I used to think what I wrote were articles or stories, and I did write articles and stories. I wrote a lot of things, but I didn't deserve to call myself a writer until some published person said, "A writer is someone who writes."
I learned from writing a full-length self-published memoir (Don't Let The Devil Steal Your Song) that not everybody gets published by traditional publishers. Not everybody ever will, but that doesn't mean they aren't writers and can't refer to themselves as writers. If a writer is someone who writes, I'm a writer. If you are someone who writes, you are a writer. You don't have to be published to be a writer. You are a writer if you write, and that's it.
Blogging is still a bit suspicious to me, but I seem to be doing it. And since blogging is a "web log," it doesn't have to take an hour to write and it doesn't have to have 1,000 words. Tonight this will not have a thousand words because it is a web log, not a treatise (I hope I spelled that right).
I am feeling pressed for time, because I should be getting ready for bed right now, and here I am not having entered anything into my "web blog," but I don't feel too guilty because I am supposed to practice music on Monday and I did a little of that: I worked on learning "When I Call Your Name" by Vince Gill.
I absolutely love to hear Vince Gill sing and could listen to him sing every night and every day. I heard him once live in Knoxville, and it was so wonderful. Seems like it was a small venue, and he was just so personable and just loved to play guitar and sing and bless people with his beautiful voice and guitar playing (and songwriting), and he played way over the time he was scheduled to play. So I got to be a little inspired by Vince Gill tonight.
So I actually only had one thing that was "on my mind" to write about tonight, and that was the ridiculous upgrade on my iPhone last night. I had read on a post on Facebook about this one lady who couldn't find her pictures, and I was hoping that wouldn't happen to me, because I didn't want to spend 45 minutes at the A, T and T store, waiting to be waited on, time better spent doing something else entirely.
Well, miraculously, I didn't have to go spend 45 minutes waiting to be helped at the A, T and T storewaiting to be waited on because I found someone at work to help me "finish setting up my phone." It consisted only in denying their request to put in a "passcode" and one other thing and now I don't have to go to the A, T and T store and sit around all evening while the standard time cold, darkness descended on our town. No, I got to write an email and I got to work on a song.
I just want to say Apple can keep their latest upgrade to IOS 18.1. It tried to keep me from finding my photos but somehow, they finally reappeaed after some dumb green screen without an exit icon glared at me for several minutes this morning. At least I didn't have to go to work in that frustrated state of mind.
That's really all I wanted to enter into my web blog for today. Now I must go on and get ready for bed. There are 14 school days left until Christmas Break. Hallelujah!
