Hi Ho, Hi Ho, It's Off to Work We Go

Remember the Seven Dwarves in the "Snow White" movie? That's my song tonight, going back to work tomorrow. Been with friends all day and have not sat down until just now. I mean I've sat down a lot but not by myself. I had a wonderful day for friendship today. Hung out with two friends, one for a couple of early afternoon hours and another one for a couple of late afternoon hours and then to a prayer meeting. I would argue that friendship is the most important single factor in human happiness. Admittedly, we mostly sit down together around food, so I would also argue that food is another important factor in human happiness, survival, actually, of course, but in addition to food and clothing, I think friendship is right up there. Feelings are very strange. There are days when some of us can feel like we don't have any friends and we wish we had a friend and we pray to have a friend, especially if we're older and have had older friends and they have recently passed away, especially if they were your best friends for many years. Life is full of these kinds of endings. I am not saying that these endings are final in all situations. They are not final if you and your friend both have a relationship with Jesus who is the best Forever Friend. Because then you know you will see them again soon. Time passes more quickly every year, I find. Since 2018 I have lost my sister, my mother and two best friends. Every loss of a friends is sad and difficult but we get through it if we have allowed God into our life, that is, have believed the gospel and accepted God's offer of salvation through Christ's death on the cross for our sins and his resurrection, which we will be celebrating in a couple of weeks. I am very glad about that. I am more glad about it every passing day because death isn't "a part of life," death is the result of sin and Jesus died for our sins and rose again for our redemption, and I will never be ashamed of the gospel. He has given me food and clothing and friendship and eternal life--and work, which I am glad to return to in the morning. He is faithful and always with me. He is my provider. I may never retire, but as long as God gives me the ability to work, I will work and God will provide both the work and everything else I need. And since I'm going back to work tomorrow, I don't have time to elaborate on this theme, so I am going to close. I am off to work in the morning, and have had a good break and lots of rest and got some things done, and hopefully a good sleep tonight and I hope you are all glad for all of God's blessings in your life because if you are not it will show on your countenance, that is you will have a sorrowful or angry expression that will drag down your face. So don't do that. I love you and Jesus loves you. Goodnight.
