Alert! If You Total Your Car
If you total your car, be sure and tell K-Tag to de-activate that vehicle from their system. Or else remove your K-tag sticker. Here’s why.
Today I got an email from K-Tag telling me they had processed my bill for $5.06. I called and asked them how was that possible since my car was in the junk yard on the date of the alleged drive to Kansas City.
Turns out the towing company or someone, somehow, had transported my broken vehicle possibly on a flatbed truck to a company called Copart in Kansas City. So now, at least I know what the $5.06 charge was about.
That’s all I really have to say about that. You see, I never go anywhere. I don’t go to Lawrence and I don’t go to Kansas City. Ever. So, it was kind of interesting to see that email. Be advised, therefore.
Also, as soon as I get my new car titled and registered, I need to call K-tag so they can learn about my new tags and send me a new sticker.
So, there you go, forewarned is forearmed, they say, right? Oh, and I also should have called the Department of Motor Vehicles and told them when my car was totaled so they would know it was no longer on the road.
Who would have thought I would get charged for my poor little car’s last ride on a flatbed truck on the way to the parts cemetery in Kansas City?
