Hoarse From Singing in the Wrong Key, And How Are You?
I am tired and I want to go to bed. I sang tonight, and had a wonderful time with my little audience. I like this a lot more than when I used to sing in bars. But I need to go to bed. Besides, I don't have anything much to say tonight.
I hate when I practice something at home and when I get in front of people it turns out the key was too high, so I had to do a little transposing a while ago. I am happy that I am able to do that and so there is still hope the song can work. One of these songs was "Oh, Thou Joyful Day" which I only recently learned. I think I had heard it before but never tried to learn it. It is a wonderful Christmas song. Unfortunately, it was replaced by "Jingle Bells" in a newer edition of the songbook.
These dear people keep telling me I'm improving all the time but I know I should practice more. It is sort of essential for improving anything. But I'm a little hoarse and need to learn to sing without getting hoarse.
I am horrified at the story of Rob Reiner and his wife being murdered.
Someone on Facebook got snippy with me, but I didn’t know you had to necessarily be accurate when sharing an opinion on Facebook. I actually apologized for saying "nobody." Of course, that is usually not accurate.
I probably should have just dropped it, but I like to make civil conversation with people who are snippy with me on Facebook, give them a chance to correct their snippiness, and if they don't, just drop the whole thing, but I like to give people a chance to be nice. If they don't want to be nice, then, there's no reason to comment further.
The person answered with no snippiness, I liked the comment and we are moving on.
Goodnight, it's past my bedtime. Hope you had a non-snippy day and are not hoarse, hope you are enjoying the holiday season, that is, the Christmas holiday season, and hope you are encouraged and blessed and I don't suppose you saw my Anne Lamott post about writing being its own reward, so if nobody likes what you write, don't take it personally, just keep writing.
We are enjoying a few hours of temperate, average-like winter weather in Kansas today for which I am extremely thankful even though I did still need to wear my knit face covering out on the playground this morning. Going to get up into the 50s for most of the rest of the week.
Kansas is generally fairly decent weather, except when it's below freezing and windy. Thanks, but no thanks and praise God anyhow. Love to all, Carolyn
