What I Learned in Kindergarten Today

Heard one of my kindergarten girls this morning asking of a classmate, "What's he whining about?" It was kind of funny. The deal was he had wanted to work with me at the little table on writing but she was there first. For the rest of the morning I kept getting lessons from kindergartners.

They are practicing writing their name on a handout that has different arrangements for different kids depending on what the teacher decides they need. I quite honestly couldn't figure out why this one boy had to write his name about twice as many times as the others when he actually writes his name better than most kids. I intuited that it was to keep him occupied and to force him to do something he doesn't want to do, because he is always in trouble even though he is one of the brighter kids in the class.

He didn't want to do it and he didn't do it, OK? So he will have to work on it again tomorrow. Here are some of the lessons I think God wants us all to learn.

Life isn't always fun and it isn't always doing what we want to do.
Sometimes it's boring and we can't see the reason why.

It isn't always your turn. In fact, it's usually somebody else's turn.

Sometimes you just do the work and don't ask why.

It takes a lot longer when you spend so much time complaining.

You can't always have things your way.

The teacher (Teacher) has his reasons.

I'm learning a lot in kindergarten.
