Look What the Lord Has Done!
I am so grateful for the presence of God in my life. I lived 33 years without it and have now lived about that many more knowing God and feeling his presence. It is not a small thing. It is huge. We all struggle with sin, if we are honest about what is continually going on inside our souls. Some of us just do a better job of keeping it down and out of sight at least in front of other people.
Among the many beautiful things about knowing God in a personal way is that, first of all, we receive God's forgiveness and second, we receive a new nature that wants to please God and tell others about what he has done for us. As long as we are in these bodies we will struggle with sin, but without his mercy and grace we would be unable to please God either now or in eternity.
Every day I have the sense that the Holy Spirit is helping me to overcome anger, depression, loneliness, anxiety...all the things that used to send me to immoral, unhealthy and/or addictive behaviors. These human conditions are leading many today into destructive behaviors that sabotage them in this life and keep God out of their life forever. Many even take their own lives thinking they are removing themselves from their suffering, when actually they are condemning themselves to something much worse if they have not been forgiven by God for their sin.
All of us who are redeemed by the Lord Jesus need to allow God to reveal to us the true state of affairs for people whom Satan has deceived and over whom he still has power. May God grant us boldness to share what God has done for us, what he can do for others.
