A Long Time to be Punished For Divorcing Someone

I know of at least two people who are celebrating wedding anniversaries today. One of them is for 50 years!!! That is a once-in-a-lifetime event that will never happen in my lifetime. But on the other hand, does an anniversary have to include the stipulation of staying married? I don't think so. So, my 50th anniversary(to my first husband) will be in 2027. All right, I'll just tell you, I'll be 80. So...it still could happen...

I say that because in 2007, approximately around our...30th anniversary... we got together (we've been divorced since 1978), and, when we were getting ready to order at the barbecue restaurant in North Kansas City, in his Prince Charming mode, in as winsome a manner as possible, introduced me to the cashier as his "wife of 30 years."

Yeah, I thought that was special. On the other hand, my dear "husband of 38 years" said in a recent text (actually about a year and a half ago) that he "does not believe his heart can stand another me." That's why I wonder why he sent me a friend request recently.

He was one of my first friends on Facebook. But pretty soon I got tired of seeing all the pictures of him with women, especially ones in bikinis on the beach. After he sent the friend request I sent him a text saying "hello..." which he did not respond to. So he wants to be friends on Facebook but he can't respond to a text? An intelligent person might conclude that 38 years is long enough to be punished for divorcing someone. Don't you think?
