'I'm fighting your battles'

This morning I woke up wide awake before 5:00. I seldom do this. Did not know why. Didn't sense anything in particular except the Lord's presence and peace. No urgent prayer burden or anything. I was just thinking, "Why aren't I sleeping?"
Then I flipped on the radio at 5:45 and heard a little of James MacDonald. He was talking about how Jesus got to a place of not talking anymore, just doing...when he told the disciples to wash each other's feet. They had been arguing about who was going to be the greatest, remember, and then Jesus washed their feet.
He said they thought Jesus was going to have them wash HIS feet, but no, he said wash one ANOTHER'S feet. And then it was just kind of a "Just do it" moment. I was getting it.
After awhile I got up and started my day, looked at Jesus Calling by Sarah Young and then...as I was brushing my teeth or something I was thinking, "OK, Lord, I'm going to work, I get it, but is that all?" and you can think I'm crazy but I believe this is what He was saying:
"I'm fighting your battles." So, brothers and sisters, I just wanted to share that. You can take it or leave it or stick it in your ear.  :)smile emoticon
