Depressed or Suicidal Over the Holidays?

Talked to a dear friend today who lives in Florida. One of the things we talked about was depression and suicide over the holidays. About how some people have the worst time of their lives over the holidays.

We were also discussing how depression and discouragement had been trying to get a hold of us lately and how we had to make a choice whether to succumb to it or not.

We should expect Satan to do what he does rather well (steal, kill and destroy). However, we do have the choice not to allow depression and thoughts of suicide to overtake us.

We don't know what is going on inside the heads of the people around us most of the time. I wish we did. But God does. And He has given us the freedom to choose life and accept his gift of salvation. I just pray that if anyone is suffering from depression that they would call on God. He has made abundant provision for everything we need. We need only receive his mercy by faith.
