'I Pity The Man Who Marries You'

"I pity the man who marries you." -- Mr. Crow
Some of my classmates were wondering what the name was of a science teacher we had at Capper Jr. High. A few of them had remarkable and detailed memories concerning him. Mine were different...:
"I was thinking a day or two ago about a science teacher we had at Capper. He was tragically killed in a car accident the summer after our 8th grade year. My memories are fond and every time I see a boxy car or newly designed utility vehicle I think of him. He showed our class the cars of the future and he was spot on. Also, he lectured to us as if we were in a college class. He was kind, intellegent, and loved teaching. If you could find out about him I would appreciate it." - Gwynne Elder Bonifield
"he was a crop adjuster in summer for insurance companies. story at time was he was told not to drive and stay in town where he was-guess he thought he could out run it or just didn't worry." - Jack Clevenger
"Allen Baxter Crow is the name of the teacher who was killed in a car wreck as a result of a freak “tornado-like wind” that picked up his car and hurled it into a corn field. Mr. Crow’s neck was broken in the accident. He was out in western KS – don’t remember exactly why – research project I think. Anyway the reason I remember this, is because my Uncle Wesley E Johnson was one of his students at Emporia Teachers College and he thought enough of this teacher to travel to KS from California (where he and his wife were teaching at the time) to go to the funeral and I went with him. Mr. Crow was a kind, “elderly”(to us at the time) gentleman teacher." Janis Liotta Salsbury
My reply to Janis: "Interesting, Janis! Wow. What I remember most about Mr. Crow is something he said to me. It was, "I pity the man who marries you," referring to how much I talked...Funny the things we remember. smile emoticonsmile emoticon
