It's Not About Our "Beliefs"; It's About God's Love and Eternity
When people stand for "their Christian beliefs" it should be clear but is not always, that it is not about our "Christian beliefs" or about our faith or about our "freedom of religion." It's really not. It's about the eternal destination of those we love, those Jesus loves and those Jesus died for and commissioned us to tell the good news.
We as a society and as the church have drifted very far from biblical Christianity but those of us who are willing to go all the way following Jesus are going to pay dearly. But it will be worth it just to hear him say, "Well done, good and faithful servant."
I believe the spirit of the Holy God that lives within us and gave us a new spirit when he saved us will guide us if we will let him. And the lines are being drawn in the sand and we're going to have to know on which side we stand.
Are we going to stand with the world, the flesh and the devil or are we going to stand with the Word, the Spirit and the Lord? What happens now does not matter except for how it affects us eternally.
This world is not our home. We're just passing through. If we compromise now we will give an account before the judge of the universe. It's not about our "beliefs." It's about a Holy God who gave us his Son to die on a cross for our sins and there is no other hope of salvation.
Things are going to get a whole lot worse than they are in this world before some people open their eyes. But if we love them, if we love God, we will just keep on loving and obeying and doing as he guides, regardless of the consequences.
For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son that whoever believe in Him should not perish have everlasting life." John 3:16
