Is the Body of Christ Just a Mouth?

The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit. I Corinthians 2:14

We must not assume anybody knows what we're talking about and be careful we're not just being puffed up. If we're going to be more like Jesus we need to BE more like him, then maybe we can talk more like him.

I'm no longer convinced that posting scripture is necessarily the best way to present the word to people who do not believe a word that's in the Bible.

Looking at marketing blurbs from Christian marketing books, I have noticed the admonition to not be "preachy." Well, I wondered, how do you preach without being "preachy?" Or how do you write or share about God and Jesus without preaching? Still don't have the answer but I know it is an attainable skill, takes practice, prayer and I'm not sure what else. Oh yeah, FAITH working through LOVE.

Do we really LOVE people or are we just trying to perform for God and making ourselves feel better and more spiritual, i.e. puffing up our ego -- even -- being self-righteous?

Do we think the body of Christ is just a mouth?

Just a few things that are on my mind...
