Chautaqua and Buy American!!!

Just a couple of things 1) Chautaqua. I think it would be so cool if community would return to our society. Instead of smart phones dominating our lives. I am encouraged though to see postings at the Classic Bean in Topeka about places to hear real music and just places to be where people can see and talk to each other. I know you know of other events, such as Wheatstock June 20 at Ward-Meade Park/Old Prairie Town. Would just like to see more outdoor live community events that are also educational maybe?
Anyway, and
2) Let's buy American, even if it costs more! Talked to my brother David Cogswell today for a long time about this "fast track" thing I read about on my FLIP PHONE. Don't know yet how it turned out, but it probably got passed. Part of it has to do with sending all our manufacturing jobs to third world countries where they can pay next to nothing for the workers. I wonder what would happen if Americans just started not buying all that stuff just because it's CHEAP? This can't be good for America.
I suppose some of us would have to start knitting our own socks in order to avoid buying products made all over the third world, but you know? Somebody needs to do something. I just wonder if the American people would actually show some backbone instead of just buying what's cheap without thinking what it means to our economy.
That's all for now. Love, Carolyn
