Short Review of Book Enemy Pie
Enemy Pie is an excellent children's book about how to turn enemies into friends. The protagonist has an "enemy list" in his tree house. He only has one name on it. His dad tells him about "enemy pie." The boy thinks the pie would have things like sticks or rocks or poison in it. But one of the rules is you have to spend the day with your enemy. So when he gets back from playing with his enemy all day (by now they're friends) the pie his dad is making is smelling wonderful. After dinner, the boy even warns his guest that the pie may have poison in it, but then he sees his dad eating it. Everybody then eats it and you get the idea. His enemy is not his enemy anymore. He's his friend. The teacher told the kindergartners that this was one of the kids' favorites last year. We need some books like that for grownups!
