Ever Have a Decision and Ask God for Confirmation About What You Should Do?
I am so blown away about the amazing goodness of God to those who are seeking Him and walking with him.
After a series of synchronous events, I was offered and accepted a position as literacy coach at the district in which I have been working as a Spanish interpreter with a student for the past year and a half. I have a relationship with this district, they have been very good to me and I loved the idea of the position. But the school is rather far away (for Topeka in which everything is no more than 20 minutes away).
Then I get a call from another district about a position I had applied to previously as a teacher in a child-care/ parenting program for an alternate high school and (guess what) the job is 5 minutes away (I went to junior high there).
So I'm in a dilemma. Praying, "Now what do you want me to do, Lord?" I don't want to miss what you are wanting me to do here..."
At the Kagan Cooperative Learning Workshop they give out door prizes. After break this morning the facilitator describes the door prize. It is a pyramid for rotation reading (each side) has a step: i.e. first person read, second person summarize, third person give a connection to the previous reading and the fourth person predicts what will happen next.
Inside my heart is racing. I'm praying, "Oh, God, please, let this be the confirmation I need to know what to do about this job situation. And here it is if this is for me, please, please, let this door prize be mine." And then she began to read my little slip I filled out with name, job and what I'm doing in my spare time.
It wasn't me. Just kidding. It was ME. And I was too chicken to sing my song, "Don't Let The Devil Steal Your Song," maybe next time I'll be ready ( said I wrote songs in my "spare" time so she asked me to sing one) but I could NOT keep it to myself. I had told my teammates about the dilemma, so I just had to share this with my "shoulder partner."
"I was just asking God to give me a confirmation that I was supposed to stay with the literacy coach position." Her eyes were big as saucers and she said, "That's so cool!!" and I said, "I am totally blown away."
And I still am as I share this with you. God is so AMAZING!!!
