Please give my brain a breather. Can't do math or science either!
My friend Pam said if I used logical thinking, that was "algebraic thinking."
Now, Pam, that IS a stretch. May be "algebraic thinking," about like if I sing the alphabet song, that demonstrates I can compose symphonies. But, oh yes, I just remembered...You are a math teacher!!! And, Lance, I cannot even follow what you wrote. Here's the deal: Algebra is just something I got a C in in high school and how I got that I cannot fathom. Got a D in geometry. Got a B in REMEDIAL college algebra which helped me get a B in statistics which helped me get a Ph. D. which is now useless to me. So you can see my train of thought. I have gone to high school math classes for a year and a half now and I still can't follow it. It always starts out easy but wait 10 minutes and it's over my head. Only time I could do it at all was that remedial class because that teacher had a degree in psychology. She had us at the board all the time, encouraging us that we could do it (it was a small class). I think I had what I later learned is called "math anxiety." There is a cure (classes like that remedial class with teachers like that) but I don't care anymore. Here's my song about that: "Please give my brain a breather. Can't do math or science either!!!"
