I Don't Understand a World in Which People are Killed For What They Believe
I don't understand a world in which people are killed for what they believe. But I do understand the saying of Jesus, that equates anger with murder. That puts us all on a level playing field.
When I look at all the evil in the world and fail to see it operating in my own heart I am demonstrating the truth of the biblical principle that the heart is "desperately wicked."
Everybody needs Jesus but nobody needs him more than I do.
I can't make anything happen or change anybody or anything. Jesus said, "Without me you can do nothing."
I don't know much and I seem to know less every day. But I do know that evil is real and destructive and my only defense against it is my relationship with God through Jesus Christ.
I don't believe spouting off my opinions about everything is terribly productive at the end of the day.
"You have heard that it was said to the people long ago, 'You shall not murder, and anyone who murders will be subject to judgment.'
But I tell you that anyone who is angry with a brother or sister will be subject to judgment. Again, anyone who says to a brother or sister, 'Raca,' is answerable to the court. And anyone who says, 'You fool!' will be in danger of the fire of hell." Matthew 5:21, 22
