Three Ways to Defeat Depression

It's a good thing there are Thanksgiving and Christmas to look forward to because this getting dark at 5:00 nonsense is depressing. As far as I know I do not have Seasonal Affective Disorder (aka SAD), but this dark season makes me SAD. Maybe I do have it. Here's the AI Overview of Seasonal Affective Disorder: "Seasonal affective disorder (SAD) is a type of recurrent depression that follows the seasons, most commonly starting in late fall or early winter and improving in the spring. Symptoms include sadness, low energy, changes in sleep and appetite, and loss of interest in activities, which can be linked to reduced daylight affecting brain chemicals like serotonin and melatonin. SAD can be treated with light therapy, psychotherapy, and antidepressants, along with lifestyle adjustments like getting more exercise and spending time outdoors." These symptoms sound just like the symptoms I'm having. Maybe what I have is related Seasonal Affective Disorder. It's probably a made-up disorder anyway. They like to add disorders, I guess, to make up for the disorders they decided weren't disorders after all, but normal, although they are far from normal from my worldview, and the definition of "normal" obviously differs according to one's worldview. I happen to believe that everyone alive has something they are sad about as we speak. People just don't want to talk about it, especially not on social media. I am not going to list the things that make me sad, and I won't ask you to do it either, I'll just assume that you do. Here are some things you can do to defeat depression. (1) Always be reading something interesting. (2) Get a job if you don't have one where you can smile to people on a daily basis. (3) Smile to someone every day even if you don't have a job. There you have it. I hope that helps. You can also go to church. That helps and I'm going tonight which means I can't write a whole lot more right now. Sorry to be brief but some things you just have to put out there.
