Let Us Be Diligent to Enter Into That Rest
I am simply overwhelmed at all the likes and comments on the picture I posted of me and the tulips at Gage Park. Thank you, friends, you have really blessed me. I am sitting here about ready to cry again. Have been doing that about every day since last Monday. I am giving the glory to Jesus.
Didn't hurt that I ended up getting some kind of sickness that weakened me further to where I really turned to God in a way I haven't for awhile. You never know how much you appreciate your health until it goes soggy on you. So thanks be to God, I am renewed by spending some quality time with Him today and throughout the week.
My verse for this whole experience has been Hebrews 4:11. In the NKJV it says, "Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest, lest anyone fall according to the same example of disobedience." Seems ironic to "be diligent to...rest." But that's exactly what it takes. Laying things down and really coming to Christ and spending some time in humility and saying, not, what am I supposed to DO today, or hello, Lord, see I read my Jesus Calling devotion, and then going about your business as usual, but rather, coming to Him without an agenda. Oh, my goodness. God is so good.
Being justified by Jesus means I don't have to justify my existence anymore. Praise God!
